Visiting with Syrian children in refugee camps on one of his mission trips to Syria.

Remember Syria

Hi, I'm Cody Langford and I started a mission in 2013 to help the Syrian people who are going through a lot of hardship. With your help, we can make a difference in the lives of Syrian refugees. Your donations will be a big part of our humanitarian aid effort and will help us provide some relief to these people who are suffering.

I came up with the idea to help them after realizing how much they were going through. We need to stand up for them because they are just like us, with the same emotions and feelings. In 2014, I went to the Syrian border and bought 108 pairs of clothing for Syrian children. We delivered this aid to a small village with a makeshift school for Syrian children. The village was called Ballani and was located east of Reyhanli by Atma, Syria.

Syria is a land of beauty, culture, and history - but it is also a land of war, destruction, and suffering. For over 50 years, the Assad regime has ruled with an iron fist, crushing the hopes and dreams of its people and denying them the most basic freedoms. But in 2011, the Syrian people had enough - they rose up in a peaceful protest, demanding reform, freedom, and a chance to live with dignity. And what did they get in return? Brutal military action, detention, rape, and death.

Today, Syria is a land of despair. Over 500,000 people have lost their lives as a result of the regime and ISIS violence, and millions more have been forced to flee their homes and become refugees. Families are torn apart, children are orphaned, and the future of this once-great nation is uncertain. And where are we in all of this? Why have we turned a blind eye to the suffering of our fellow human beings?

The answer is simple - we have failed to act. We have failed to live up to our potential as a global community, to show compassion and solidarity in the face of injustice. We have allowed our own comfort and convenience to blind us to the plight of others, to forget that we are all part of the same human family.

But it is not too late. We can still make a difference. We can still help ease the pain of a Syrian family, to send them hope and blessings in their time of need. We can still support those who are working tirelessly to bring peace, justice, and freedom to this troubled land.

It is time to wake up, to stand up, and to act. For the sake of humanity, we must come together to support the people of Syria, to show them that we care, that we see their struggles, and that we stand with them in their fight for a better tomorrow.

So I ask you: will you answer the call? Will you help make a difference in the lives of our Syrian brothers and sisters? Will you be a beacon of hope in a world that so desperately needs it? The choice is yours. Let us choose wisely, and let us act with courage and compassion. Together, we can make a difference.

My Mission

My mission and goals encompass delivering much-needed supplies such as baby food, milk, hospital equipment, schooling supplies, clothes, blankets, and more to those struggling to keep alive in Syria. While I will cover my own expenses like passport and food, it's the individuals who donate who will keep my mission moving and be the backbone. I aim to make sure that donations do not end up in the wrong hands, as we've seen in the past. With thousands of lives lost, millions displaced, and many refugees struggling to survive, we need to act urgently. As part of achieving this ambitious goal, I plan to travel to Syria or a nearby country to supervise the donated goods and be part of the distribution process. If gaining entry into Syria proves challenging, I will base myself in Turkey to utilize the funds effectively. On the Remember Syria Facebook page, I will share photographs of the scenes and the supplies donated to show you where your donations went and how they were handled. Additionally, I will use these photographs to forge new connections with other families and villages for more successful drops. Our initial goal will be to raise $10,000 so that we do not get overloaded. Making donations to our site is also necessary because we must all attempt to contribute. It's crucial that people who have been treated poorly and not treated as human beings have ease of access to basic necessities for survival, such as food, water, heat, and basic unites. I chose to take action after watching the situation in Syria escalate and witnessing men, women, and children treated with such neglect. My belief is that we are all one in our pursuit of a happy, prosperous life, and that's why I'm eager to help and stand handed to the Syrian people. Lastly, I express gratitude to Syrians with whom I have made connections and for their help in achieving my goal and making the difference in life or death of a family or the future of a Syrian child who lost their parents. Accomplishments

1. Remember Syria Relief nonprofit 2014

Our work has taken us to the Syrian border, where we have completed four trips and provided support to those in need. We are passionate about making a difference and helping to build a better tomorrow, and believe that each of us has the power to make a lasting impact.

2. Carpentry shop For refugees

Our carpentry shop for Syrian refugees in Turkey has been a tremendous success. We have been able to employ dozens of refugees, providing them with a source of income and helping them to rebuild their lives after the trauma of displacement. Additionally, our initiative has allowed children of these refugees to return to school, as their parents are now able to support them financially. By providing a supportive and safe environment for these refugees to work and learn in, we have been able to create a sense of community and purpose among our workers. We are proud to have made a positive impact on the lives of these refugees and their families. Sadly, the earthquakes that struck Turkey and Syria early February 2023, destoyed our shop in addition to our Widow Warriors Sewing Shop. Due to the massive destruction, loss of lives and displacement of the already displaced has out any sort of rebuilding efforts on hold. Right now any money donated will be used to help Syrian refugees with daily living needs.

3. Clothing For Syrians

20 large boxes of clothing shipped to Syrian Refugee Camp inside Jordan Thank You to all who've donated and made this possible.

4. supplies for syrians

A uhaul load full of clothes, supplies, and over 60 new sleeping bags was sent to the Syrian refugees in Turkey near the Syrian border thank to our donors.

5. Widow warriors

Just as the carpentry shop was created for male refugees, we needed to do something for all of the widows. The number of widows with children is alarming, many forced to dig through trash at dumps to resell any scrap of resources they find. Through this project, a sewing shop was developed to employ widows, giving them away to support themselves and their children. Unfortunatly just as our carpenty shop was lost to the earthquake in 2023, our sewing shop was also destroyed. These projects are on hold to reaccess the situation and determine how to rebuild. Until that time all donations to this account will be used for those struggling to obtain basic needs within the camps.

6. personal moments

Attending demonstrations, meeting honorable Syrian Revolutionary figures, host families and survivors has been a memorable and emotional experience. We will continue to support our brave Syrian brothers and sisters until freedom is obtained and justice is served.
